NOHrD | SquatRack
The NOHrD SquatRack is a wall-mounted squat rack that folds completely into two separate wooden casings, each one 13 cm deep and 221 cm tall. Closed, the pair of columns reads as two slim panels on the wall at 17 x 13 x 221 cm, which is 6.7 x 5.1 x 87 in.; open, they carry a barbell across two adjustable rests with a rated load of 200 kg (441 lb). The whole rack weighs 60 kg (132 lb) and it is extended by a foot mechanism, so the columns are brought out into the room without putting a hand on them.
The two barbell rests adjust to different heights up the columns, so one rack serves a front squat, a back squat, an overhead press and a bench press without a second frame. The rests fold briefly upward when the bar touches them on the way up, so a bar driven through the top of a rep is not stopped dead by the hardware it came off. Extending the rack fully also opens enough floor between the columns to bring a weight bench in and press underneath it.
Six wood finishes run across the casings, from a black-stained wood-veneered Shadow at the entry to a real walnut veneer at the top of the price ladder. The rack ships as two packages and is assembled and fixed on site. NOHrD backs it for one year from the date of shipment, extended to two years on components and two years on wooden components when the product is registered inside the first year, with ninety days on spare parts.
The rack
Two wooden casings hold the entire rack when it is closed, 13 cm off the wall and 221 cm tall, which is the depth of a bookshelf carrying a 200 kg rated squat station. A foot mechanism brings the columns out into the room and the barbell rests set the height once they are there.

Closed, the SquatRack disappears into two separate wall-mounted wooden casings measuring 17 x 13 x 221 cm, which is 6.7 in. wide, 5.1 in. deep and 87 in. tall. A rack folds into a room that is also a living room on the strength of those numbers, because 13 cm of projection is shallower than most shelving and the columns are finished in the same wood ladder as the rest of the NOHrD range. The two casings are separate units on the wall, set apart at the spacing the bar needs, so there is no header beam running between them across the ceiling line.

The rack is extended with a foot mechanism, which means the columns swing out into the room without bending down to release a catch by hand. Fully extended, the rack opens enough clear floor between the two columns to bring a weight bench in and work underneath the bar. Setting up and putting away is where a folding rack either earns its keep or gets left open permanently, and a foot release is the part that decides which. Closing it again returns the whole station to two panels on the wall.

Two barbell rests carry the bar and each one adjusts to a different height on its column, so the same rack racks a low bar back squat, a high bar front squat, an overhead press and a bench press. On the concentric half of a lift the rests fold briefly upward when the bar contacts them, which keeps the hardware from checking a bar that is still travelling. The rated load across the rests is 200 kg, or 441 lb, and that figure covers the bar and everything on it.

NOHrD builds SpotterArms for this rack as a separate item, and they are the catch that takes a bar you cannot finish or need to set down mid-rep. They matter most to anyone training alone, which is most people buying a rack for a room at home. NOHrD sells them in the same finish ladder as the rack itself. Ask us before you order if you want them quoted alongside the SquatRack, because we source them to order.

Ownership
The rated load is 200 kg and the rack itself weighs 60 kg, and both of those numbers end up going into the same wall. A wall-mounted rack is not a piece of equipment you reposition after the fact, so the wall it goes on, the 221 cm casing height and the 13 cm standoff all want settling before the fixings go in and the two packages arrive.
01
441 lb across the two barbell rests, covering the bar and the plates on it together.
02
Closed, each casing is 17 cm wide and 13 cm deep, standing 221 cm from floor to top.
03
132 lb of rack goes onto the wall before any load does. Have the fixings specified by your installer.
04
A foot mechanism swings the columns out, and the rack folds flat again when the session ends.
05
Both barbell rests set to different heights, covering squats, presses and bench work on one rack.
06
Each rest folds briefly upward when the bar touches it on the way up through a rep.
07
The rack arrives in two cartons and is assembled and fixed to the wall on site.
08
One year from shipment, taken to two years on components and wooden components by registering inside the first year.
In detail
Folded and open
The SquatRack has two states and almost nothing in between. Folded, the two casings project 13 cm into the room, which is less than a coat hook with a coat on it. Extended by the foot mechanism, the columns swing out and the two barbell rests come with them, opening enough floor between the columns for a bench and a lifter under the bar. The rack weighs 60 kg in total and is assembled from two packages on site, with the wall fixings put in as part of that installation.
The rests
Each column carries a barbell rest and each rest adjusts to a different height, which is the adjustment that turns one rack into several. Set low, the bar sits for a back squat; set high, it sits for an overhead press; set at chest level over a bench, it becomes a press station. The rated load is 200 kg (441 lb) across the rests, taken as the bar plus everything loaded on it, and there is no separate user weight figure to work around. When the bar contacts a rest on the way up, the rest folds briefly upward and lets the bar pass, so an aggressive concentric is not stopped by the metal it started on.
The wood
A folded SquatRack spends most of its life as two tall wooden panels on a wall in a room people use for other things, so the finish carries more weight here than on a piece of kit that lives in a garage. Shadow is the black-stained wood-veneered option at the entry of the ladder and it is the one that reads as architecture instead of equipment. Oak is real oak a rung above it, and above that sits Vintage with its aged character finish. Walnut is real walnut veneer at the top of the range and carries the largest upcharge on a pair of panels this tall. The wooden surfaces are finished in NOHrD's hard wax oil, and the NOHrD Care Set is the oil, lubricant and cloth kit sold for maintaining them.
The range
Among six NOHrD strength pieces in wood, the SquatRack is the one that vanishes when the session ends, folding into two wall-mounted wooden casings that stand 13 cm off the wall. The WeightPlate Tower and DumbBell Set store the load, the WeightBench and TriaTrainer hold the lifter, and Swing Bells cover the light end without a bar.
You're Here

A solid wood adjustable bench taking 400 kg including dumbbells, with eight backrest angles.
Twenty veneered plates and three Gungnir barbells on a 117 cm tower with a SlideLock collar system.
Nine pairs of nickel-plated steel dumbbells from 5 to 25 kg on a free-standing angled wood rack.

Eight leather bells filled with iron granules, on a free-standing tower or a wall-mounted board.
Questions
200 kg, or 441 lb, as the rated load on the barbell rests. The figure covers the bar and the plates on it together. There is no separate user weight rating on this rack, because the lifter's weight goes into the floor and only the bar goes into the rests.
13 cm, or 5.1 in. Each casing measures 17 x 13 x 221 cm closed, so the pair reads as two narrow columns 221 cm (87 in.) tall standing proud of the wall by about the depth of a picture frame. Check your ceiling height against 221 cm before ordering, since the casing is fixed at that length.
Something that will carry 60 kg of rack plus a 200 kg rated load in shear, fixed through two separate casings that each run 221 cm tall. NOHrD supplies the rack in two packages for assembly and fixing on site, and we would always have the fixings specified by the installer who sees the wall. Tell us the wall construction you are working with and we will get NOHrD's installation requirements for that wall type before the order goes in. Send us a photo of the wall and the room and we will talk it through before you order.
With a foot mechanism. The columns extend out into the room when the mechanism is released by foot, and they fold back into the two casings afterwards. Opening by foot matters more than it sounds: a folding rack that takes two hands and a crouch to deploy tends to get left open, which defeats the reason for buying a folding rack.
One year from the date of shipment on the product and its components, taken to two years on components and two years on wooden components by registering the rack inside that first year. Spare parts carry ninety days. The term applies to private and commercial use alike, and it excludes normal wear, modification, and maintenance that has been skipped.
Yes, and that is one of the reasons for the full extension. Opened out, the rack leaves enough floor between the two columns to bring a bench in and press underneath the bar. The NOHrD WeightBench is the matching piece, adjustable through eight backrest positions and rated to 400 kg including dumbbells, and it comes in the same six finishes as the rack.
So a bar that contacts a rest on the way up is not stopped by it. Each rest folds briefly upward on contact and lets the bar continue, then returns to carry the bar when you rack it. On a squat driven hard out of the hole, or a press finished under the rest line, that behaviour separates a completed rep from a jarred bar.
No. NOHrD builds SpotterArms for the SquatRack as a separate item, and they are the catch that takes a bar you cannot finish or want to set down in the middle of a set. Anyone training alone should price them in from the start. We source them to order, so ask us to quote them with the rack.
Both rests are adjustable at different heights on their columns. A back squat, a front squat, an overhead press and a bench press all come off one rack. Each side is set independently, so the bar can be levelled on an uneven floor or dropped a notch on one side to suit how you unrack.
Shadow, Oak, Vintage, Club, Cherry and Walnut, which is also the order they price in. Shadow is a black-stained wood-veneered panel and the entry point of the ladder. Because this rack folds back to two tall panels on a wall with nothing else near them, the finish is doing visible work on the days nobody trains.
60 kg (132 lb) in two packages, assembled and fixed to the wall on site. The two casings are handled separately, which keeps each carton to a size that goes up a domestic stair. Book an installer for the same day as the delivery if you can, because the rack is of no use until it is on the wall.
A bar and plates, a bench, and the SpotterArms. The WeightPlate Tower and Bars supplies three Gungnir barbells and 20 plates, with the 160 cm Pumper loading to 62 kg, which sits comfortably inside the rack's 200 kg rating. The WeightBench gives you the press positions underneath it. Both come in the same six finishes, so a room ends up matched.
