Jugs Toss Machine

The Jugs Toss Machine is a soft-toss machine that puts a ball in the hitting zone every 5 seconds. A hitter gets hundreds of swings in less than half an hour. It weighs 13 lbs and needs no cord, so it sets up in any backyard, garage or batting cage of 10 ft x 10 ft or more. An internal rechargeable battery carries up to 8 hours of continuous use on a single charge, and the charger is in the box.

The hopper holds up to 14 baseballs or 10 softballs, so a hitter loads it, steps in and takes a full round before reloading. It accepts regulation leather baseballs and softballs plus JUGS training balls, including Sting-Free, Softie, Pearl, Bulldog and Lite-Flite.

How it works

Power with no outlet
Power separates the Toss Machine from the Small-Ball, Lite-Flite and PS50 machines. An internal rechargeable battery runs it with no cord. The Small-Ball Machine and the PS50 both require a 110V AC outlet. The Lite-Flite Machine has a rechargeable battery pack available as a separate purchase, good for up to 3 hours. Only the Toss Machine carries its own power as standard equipment; a full day of hitting stations runs with no cord crossing the floor.

The machine automatically tosses a ball every 5 seconds and increases the number of hitting opportunities each player has during practice. Five seconds is a fixed interval, so a hitter resets the stance and the hands on a rhythm the machine keeps. That works out to twelve tosses a minute and hundreds of swings in less than half an hour.

A hopper for 14 baseballs
The hopper holds up to 14 baseballs or 10 softballs. At a toss every 5 seconds that works out to roughly 70 seconds of baseball or 50 seconds of softball before a reload. It takes regulation leather baseballs and softballs and every JUGS training ball, from Sting-Free and Softie to Pearl, Bulldog and Lite-Flite.

With its internal rechargeable battery, the machine can sit at the far end of a field or the back corner of a gym. It runs up to 8 hours of continuous use on a single charge, with no electricity needed across that window. Eight hours is a tournament day, a full Saturday of rotating stations, or four weeknight practices at two hours each. The battery charger comes with the machine, and a full recharge takes about 12 hours, so an overnight charge sets up the next day.
