Sports Attack Drop Attack Rugby Machine

The Sports Attack Drop Attack Rugby Machine is a pass and kick rugby machine built for the phases of rugby that are hardest to rehearse. True to its name it delivers a drop kick, firing the ball 40 to 50 yards into the air. It also replicates chandelles, also called the up and under, and torpedo kicks, and its kicks carry 70+ yards. A quick adjustment to the wheel position turns the same unit into a passing machine, with passes from 5 to 40 yards. Ball speed runs from about 20 MPH to over 70 MPH, and the machine arrives fully assembled.

Passes to feet, torpedo passes and spin passes all come with consistent delivery. Two independently running electric motors give the machine its recovery time and the power to put a rugby ball anywhere on the field. A coach can run lineout throws, restarts and defensive combinations without leaving the group. Every ball leaves from a release point of 50 inches on the stand.

Whether the ball comes out as a drop kick or a spin pass is set at the throwing head, with no tools.

A single head for kicks and passes

The ball cradle positions the ball for either a pass or a kick, and the wheel tilt decides which one comes out. Move the wheel and the Drop Attack becomes a passing machine; move it back and it is delivering drop kicks again. Solid-polyurethane wheels grip the ball firmly, and guards sit over them to protect players, coaches, fingers and hands during operation.

Getting It There

Off the field in one motion

The unit moves in one motion: tilt it, unsocket the legs and roll it away on two transporting wheels. Those wheels are extra-wide, solid and always in place, so nothing has to be fitted before a move. The Drop Attack fits in any standard SUV or truck for an away session.
