NOHrD | WallBars accessory
The NOHRD WallBar CombiTrainer is a sliding bench and cable pulley frame that hooks onto the rungs of the NOHRD WallBar, measuring approximately 190 x 60 cm (74.8 x 23.6 in.) and weighing 21 kg (46 lb). Pull on the rope handles and the bench glides along the frame carrying you with it, so the resistance is your own bodyweight and the angle of the frame decides how much of it you are moving. There is no weight stack, no plates and nothing to load: the lying surface measures about 33 x 14 in., a fold-out foot stand braces the bottom end, and the cables run on ball bearing pulleys.
The angle is set by which rung you hook it to. Higher up the panel the frame is steeper and more of your bodyweight comes into the pull; lower down it flattens out and the movement lightens, which is the whole adjustment on a machine that has no other one. Sitting and prone positions are both available on the same bench, so pulling patterns for the back and the arms and pressing patterns share one frame. NOHrD builds the CombiTrainer exclusively for use with its WallBars, and it folds flat and hangs on the same bars for storage.
One thing to settle before ordering: the CombiTrainer does not include the WallBar. It is an addition to a panel you already own or are buying alongside it, it brings no wall anchors of its own, and it has no freestanding legs. It is built in six wood finishes, each one a separate build of the frame in that wood and not a stain over a common blank, and the six are the same six the WallBar panel is offered in. Assembly is required, and NOHrD backs it for one year from shipment, going to two years on components and wooden components when you register inside that first year.
The mechanism
Nothing on the CombiTrainer is loaded, weighed or dialled in. You lie or sit on a bench that runs on the frame, you pull the handles, and the bench travels up the incline with you on it, which means the load is a fraction of your own mass set by the angle you hung the frame at.
01
Rope handles run from the cables to your hands, and pulling them draws the flat bench smoothly along the frame with your bodyweight on it. That makes every repetition a scaled version of a pull-up or a row, with the scaling done by the geometry instead of by a pin in a stack. Because the bench glides rather than pivots, the movement stays long and even from the start of the pull to the end of it, and the return is controlled by how much of the incline you let take the bench back down.
Gliding bench
02
The CombiTrainer hooks in at different heights on the NOHRD WallBar, and the height sets the angle of the frame and therefore the proportion of your bodyweight the cables have to move. Hook it high and the frame steepens and the pull gets heavier; hook it low and it flattens and lightens. On a 14-bar panel those steps are 10 cm apart and on a 10-bar panel they are 18 cm apart, so the rung count on your wall bar decides how finely you can set the resistance.
Angle by rung
03
The cables run over ball bearing pulleys, so the pull stays smooth at the low loads this frame works at, where a stiff pulley would be felt immediately. Sitting and prone positions are both worked on the same 33 x 14 in. surface, so a session can move from pulling patterns lying face down to seated pulling without rehanging anything. A fold-out foot stand braces the bottom of the frame for the positions that need you anchored.
33 x 14 in.
04
The frame is approximately 190 x 60 cm (74.8 x 23.6 in.) in use and 21 kg (46 lb) on the scale, which is light enough for one person to lift onto a rung and heavy enough to want two hands doing it. When the session is over it folds flat and hangs on the WallBar itself, so a 190 cm training frame stores against the same panel it works on and gives the floor back. Nothing gets carried to another room and nothing leans in a corner.

Ownership
The CombiTrainer has no motor, no stack, no console and no power lead, so owning one comes down to what it hangs on, how much floor it wants while you are using it and where it goes afterwards. The panel it hooks onto, the 190 cm of clear floor it works in, the 21 kg of frame and the finish it is cut in are what a buyer settles before the order goes in.
01
It is built exclusively for NOHrD WallBars and ships without the panel, so a CombiTrainer bought alone has nothing to hang on.
02
Allow roughly 75 in. of floor out from the wall and 24 in. across for the frame to sit at its working angle.
03
The frame brings no wall fixings. Everything it carries goes through the rungs into the WallBar and out into the wall behind it.
04
It arrives to be built before it goes up, unlike the WallBar Bench, which hangs straight out of the box.
05
Folded flat it hangs on the WallBar, so the training frame and its storage are the same piece of wall.
06
Nothing on the CombiTrainer plugs in, so it can hang on a wall with no socket anywhere near it.
07
The same six woods the WallBar runs, so the frame can be ordered to match the panel it hangs on.

In detail
The frame
The lying surface measures about 33 x 14 in. and is carried on rails that run the length of the frame. The bench is the part that travels: it glides along the rails as the cables pull, and it takes you with it in a sitting or a prone position depending on the pattern being worked. A fold-out foot stand sits at the bottom of the frame for the positions that need the feet braced. The whole assembly weighs 21 kg, and the wood is finished in the same hard wax oil NOHrD uses across its range.
Fitment
The CombiTrainer is designed exclusively for use with NOHrD WallBars and it does not include them. There are no legs, no feet and no wall plate on the frame, so the panel has to be on the wall before the CombiTrainer can be used at all. It fits both rung counts, the 10-bar panel at 18 cm spacing and the 14-bar at 10 cm, and the finer spacing gives you more angles to hang it at. The NOHRD WallBar is 230 x 79 x 13 cm, sits 6 cm off the wall and is rated to a 120 kg (265 lb) user, and since it is a wall-mounted product, that wall is what carries the CombiTrainer, its 21 kg and the person on it. Ask us about your wall construction and we will get NOHrD's installation requirements for it.
The wood
The finish list is the same one the WallBar panel runs, so the sensible order is the one where frame and panel match: Shadow, Oak, Vintage, Club, Cherry and Walnut, climbing in price in that order, with the frame built in the wood you pick. Shadow is the black-stained option and the cheapest way into the frame, and the aged character finish is Vintage in the middle. Every wooden surface takes NOHrD's hard wax oil, which can be refreshed by hand with the NOHRD Care Set.
The range
Everything in this group hooks onto the same rungs, and every one of the clip-ons is useless without the panel underneath it. The panel carries the CombiTrainer, the Bench, the Desk, the Multi-Adapter and the Extension, and the clearance, weight and fixing of each one is what decides how many of them a single wall can hold.
The wall-mounted panel every other part hangs on, with a fold-out top bar for pull-ups.
You're Here
Sliding bench and cable pulley frame that hooks onto the rungs and works against bodyweight.
Incline workout bench and back support that hooks onto any rung and stores upright on the panel.
Laminated solid wood work surface that hooks onto a rung for sitting or standing work.
One part with two orientations, hanging as a triceps dip support or as a horizontal bar.
Bottom-mounted panel that extends the wall bar downward on any NOHrD wall bar.
Questions
No. The CombiTrainer does not include the WallBars. NOHrD builds it exclusively for use with its wall bars, it hooks onto the rungs, and it has no legs, no feet and no wall plate of its own. If there is no panel on your wall yet, order the NOHRD WallBar on the same purchase. If there is one already, the CombiTrainer fits both the 10-bar and the 14-bar version.
By which rung you hook it to. There is no weight stack and no plates: the load is your own bodyweight and the angle of the frame decides how much of it the cables are moving. Hooking in higher up the panel steepens the frame and makes the pull heavier; lower down flattens it and lightens the pull. A 14-bar panel gives 10 cm steps between settings and a 10-bar panel gives 18 cm.
Approximately 190 x 60 cm, which is 74.8 x 23.6 in., with a lying surface of about 33 x 14 in. and a weight of 21 kg (46 lb). Allow that 190 cm of clear floor out from the wall when you are planning the room, and remember the frame folds flat and hangs on the panel afterwards, so it only wants that floor while you are on it.
Work to the NOHRD WallBar's 120 kg (265 lb) maximum user weight, because that is the panel carrying the frame and the person on it. The CombiTrainer adds its own 21 kg on top of the user, and the rungs it hooks onto are carrying both the 21 kg frame and the body working on it. There is no weight stack to add to that sum, because the CombiTrainer works against bodyweight alone through its rope and pulley, so the load on the panel is the rider plus the 21 kg frame and nothing else. The rungs carrying it are 38 mm solid wood across a 230 x 79 x 13 cm panel sitting 6 cm (2.4 in.) off the wall.
It folds flat and hangs on the WallBars, so the frame stores on the same panel it trains on and the floor comes back between sessions. A wall-hung trainer beats a floor-standing cable machine in any room that has to do something else for the other twenty-three hours of the day.
No. The CombiTrainer is a bodyweight trainer with cables, pulleys and a gliding bench, and it carries no stack, no plates and no elastic. If a weight stack is what you are after on a wall, the NOHRD SlimBeam is the wall-mounted cable machine in the range and it runs a 75 kg (165 lb) stack at a 3:1 cable ratio.
Sitting and prone, both on the same 33 x 14 in. surface. Pulling patterns worked lying face down and seated pulling patterns share one frame, and a fold-out foot stand at the bottom braces the feet for the positions that need it. Changing between them is a matter of turning round on the bench, with no rehanging and no tools.
One year from the date of shipment, covering private and commercial use, with repair or replacement at NOHrD's works in Nordhorn or a nominated service centre. Register within that first year and it becomes two years on all components and all wooden components. Spare parts carry ninety days, and cables and handles are treated as wear items.
Yes. The CombiTrainer arrives to be assembled before it goes onto the bars, unlike the WallBar Bench and the Multi-Adapter, both of which hang straight out of the box. Build it on the floor first, then hook it onto the rung you want to start at.
The CombiTrainer brings no wall anchors of its own, but the panel it hangs on is a wall-mounted product and everything ends up there. The NOHRD WallBar is 230 cm tall, sits 6 cm off the wall face and is rated to a 120 kg user, so the wall it goes on has to carry the panel, the frame and the person training. Which wall in the building that is should be settled before the order, and we will get NOHrD's installation requirements for your wall type if you tell us what it is.
Six, and they are the same six the WallBar panel comes in, so a frame can be matched to the panel it hangs on. Shadow is the cheapest way in and Walnut the dearest, with the frame built in the wood you choose and not stained to match it. Every wooden surface carries NOHrD's hard wax oil.
They do different jobs on the same panel. The WallBar Bench is a 136 x 33 cm incline bench at 15 kg that gives you a surface to press and row from, hangs on any rung up to 95 cm and needs no assembly. The CombiTrainer is a 190 x 60 cm cable frame at 21 kg whose bench moves under you against your own bodyweight, and it does need building. Owners of a well-used wall bar often end up with both, since neither replaces the other.
