Chattanooga Intelect Mobile 2 RPW - Shockwave Therapy System (Open Box)

The Chattanooga Intelect Mobile 2 RPW - Shockwave Therapy System is a compact radial shockwave therapy system, light enough to be carried from room to room or out to a second site. Its compressor sits inside the 18 lb (8.2 kg) housing and drives the R-SW handpiece from 1 to 5 bar. D-ACTOR transmitters take intensive work, while the optional V-ACTOR II handpiece adds vibration massage. This unit is sold open box: the carton has been opened, and the hardware and specification are those of a new Mobile 2 RPW. The two-year device warranty runs from the date of original consumer purchase, for the original purchaser.

Pulse rate tracks pressure: the R-SW reaches 21 Hz anywhere from 1.0 to 4.0 bar and steps down to 15 Hz at 4.6 bar and 12 Hz at 5.0 bar, and the V-ACTOR reaches 31 Hz from 1.4 to 3.0 bar, 22 Hz at 3.8 bar and 13 Hz at 5.0 bar.

The machine

How it works

The Mobile 2 RPW keeps its compressor, controls and power supply in one compact housing, with the trigger on the handpiece.

A compact housing
The housing measures 490 x 290 x 400 mm, which is 19.3 x 11.4 x 15.7 in., with the compressor built in. It sits on a bench and moves between treatment rooms in one hand.
490 x 290 x 400 mm
Controls at the handpiece
Pulses are triggered at the handpiece, and mode is single shock or continuous shock, set on simple, ergonomically laid out controls with pressure, frequency and pulse count on the illuminated front panel.
Single or continuous
Wide-voltage supply
Input is 100 to 240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz through a T4AL/250 VAC fuse, with IPX1 on the control device and IPX0 on the handpieces. Operating range is 10 to 40 deg C, with storage at 0 to 60 deg C, frost free.
Max 200 VA
Hours and shocks
Control device service life is approximately 3,500 hours, the R-SW handpiece approximately five million shocks and the V-ACTOR approximately five million pulses.
3,500 hours

Built to travel

Key features

The Mobile 2 RPW goes where the clinician goes, carrying two applicator types in one portable unit.

Muscle pain and discomfort
Radial pressure waves help ease muscle pain and discomfort, temporarily increase blood flow and stimulate connective tissue in tendons, ligaments and fascia.
Multi-discipline functionality
One portable unit serves orthopedics, rheumatology, physical medicine, physiotherapy, acupuncture, athletic training, podiatry and chiropractic care.
D-ACTOR and V-ACTOR applicators
D-ACTOR transmitters on the R-SW handpiece take intensive work, and the optional V-ACTOR II handpiece brings vibration massage to the same unit.
Hearing protection for both of you
Suitable hearing protection is recommended for user and patient alike. A machine that moves between sites needs a set for each of them.

Handpieces on one connector

The R-SW therapy handpiece weighs 510 g and the optional V-ACTOR II vibration handpiece 370 g, and both connect through a standard handpiece connector with a red dot alignment mark. The V-ACTOR II runs the V25 and V40 transmitters for vibration massage.

  • R-SW handpiece, 510 g, triggered at the handpiece
  • V-ACTOR II vibration handpiece, 370 g, optional
  • Red dot alignment mark on the connector
  • V25 and V40 vibration transmitters

Fitment

Heads and wear parts

Transmitters are wear items, chosen by diameter and depth of penetration. Nine D-ACTOR family heads fit the R-SW handpiece, and all nine also fit the trolley-mounted Intelect RPW 2, so a clinic running both machines keeps one set of heads and one stock of spares.

How it compares

The Mobile 2 RPW and the Intelect RPW 2 are both radial and metered in bar, and the Intelect Focus is focused and electromagnetic, metered in mJ/mm2. The new-condition Mobile 2 RPW is the same hardware as this unit.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Pneumatically. The compressor in the housing fires a projectile down a guiding tube in the R-SW handpiece, and the projectile strikes the back of the transmitter head held against the skin.

No. Same model, the Intelect Mobile 2 RPW, and every specification is identical, from the 1 to 5 bar output and its pressure-tied frequency ceiling to the R-SW handpiece.

Three terms: two years on the device from the date of original consumer purchase; two years or three million shocks on the R-SW handpiece, whichever occurs first; and one year or one million shocks on shock transmitters, whichever occurs first, including the Ro40 and D20-S heads supplied with the unit.

The standard kit is the R-SW handpiece applicator set, the Shockwave Power Cord US and the R-SW CD user manual. The applicator set's case holds the R-SW handpiece, the Ro40 Beam transmitter at 15 mm, the D20-S at 20 mm, two wrenches and the long revision kit. Conductor transmission gel is the coupling medium, and the V-ACTOR II vibration handpiece set is sold separately.

The device must not be used with malignant tumors in the treatment area; a fetus in the treatment area; swollen or inflamed areas or skin eruptions; unexplained calf pain; children, unconscious patients, or those unable to consent; wounds, infected areas, skin tumors, open sores or recent surgical scars. Avoid areas near large nerves, vessels, the spine or the head, and keep the handpiece moving because concentrated repetitive pulses risk bruising.

The control device weighs 18 lb (8.2 kg) in a 490 x 290 x 400 mm housing and takes 100 to 240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz, maximum 200 VA through a T4AL/250 VAC fuse.

Handpiece wear parts first: the guide tube and projectile set for the D-ACTOR and the revision kit whose contents match the Revision Kit R-SW, with the shaft cushion. After that, transmitter heads, which are wear items covered for one year or one million shocks and come singly or as a cased set of nine.

If they are D-ACTOR family heads, yes: T10, C15, DI15, F15, D20-S, D20-T, D35-S, Atlas and Ro40 all fit the Intelect Mobile 2 RPW and the Intelect RPW 2. Handpieces stay with their machine: the R-SW set belongs to the Mobile 2 and the FALCON to the RPW 2.
